An article should help readers take a concrete step while showing its legal basis and limits. Editorial review is not individual legal advice or independent approval. Currency, precise conditions and matching Czech and English meaning matter for each conclusion.
Claims need traceable evidence
Ground legal requirements in a specific provision of the applicable legislation. Identify guidance as guidance and recommended practice as recommendation. Do not extend an authority’s typical example automatically to every service. A citation must support the particular claim rather than merely lead to an institutional home page.
Distinguish review date, legal effect and source publication. Older guidance can remain useful but may have been affected by amendments. Adopted EU legislation may not yet generally apply. Readers need to know the date to which the conclusion relates.
Check conditions and consequences
Check entity category, business activity, service, threshold, timing and exceptions. More than and at least produce different boundary results. Rentals depend on monthly value, accounting on relationship formation and legal services on covered activity and privileged information.
Then test practical usability: whom to identify, which evidence to obtain and what to do with uncertainty. A register, list or signature alone cannot be presented as completing all duties. Examples should illustrate a decisive distinction rather than repeat an abstract rule.
Translation must preserve the rule
Preserve conditions and exceptions. Use obliged entity, beneficial owner and business relationship consistently. Explain Czech concepts where terminology from another jurisdiction could mislead. The English article describes Czech law, not a universal international procedure.
Compare figures, currencies, citations, negatives and confidence. Do not turn must into may or should into must. Shortening cannot remove the limits of a professional exception. Correct the same substantive point in both languages.
Traceable corrections
Identify the affected claim, supporting source and impact. Update related content carrying the same error. Keep a change record; cosmetic editing is not renewed legal verification. Unresolved material questions need further review, not confident wording.
Editorially reviewed means substantive checking of available sources and both languages. It does not mean external legal certification, authority approval or a guaranteed case outcome. Redakce eAML.cz authorship indicates editorial responsibility, not a personal adviser.
Practical steps
- Define claim and relevant date.
- Verify law and guidance.
- Check conditions, boundaries and exceptions.
- Compare Czech and English meaning.
- Record the correction and related impact.
Illustrative scenario
A rental article said above EUR 10,000. Section 2 establishes at least EUR 10,000. The editor corrects both languages, the exact-boundary example and profession card, and records the substantive change.
When the situation differs
The Czech boundary is corrected but English still says exceeds, giving different outcomes for the same case.
What to document
- Provision and review date
- Substantive change record
- Both-language and related-content checks
Common pitfalls
- Unsupported citations
- Future law as a current duty
- Implied independent approval
Frequently asked questions
Does the review date guarantee permanent currency?
No. It records the check date. Amendments, measures or circumstances require renewed assessment.
Can uncertain content remain published?
Material uncertainty must be clearly identified and conclusions limited. Unsupported certainty must not guide the reader.
